Motorcycle Weekend Top Apennines
Apennines are an impressive mountain range that winds along the whole Italian peninsula. Its highest peaks are all in Central Italy. The Gran Sasso, the mightiest one, is 2912 m high (9554 ft). It includes Campo Imperatore, where Benito Mussolini was confined in 1943, and a scenic plateau nicknamed “the Small Tibet”.
It is a region of incredible beauty, full of rugged mountains, little villages perches on the mountain sides, and twisty and scenic roads that make drivers happy. Apennines are also very close to Rome, therefore it would be a real shame to miss them when you visit the Eternal Town.
IItalians know well the beauty of these mountains. It is time that you come and visit them. You will be grateful.
